On Saturday, May 19, 2001,
Ed Dupuis, Garry Pringle and I went to see Montreal-based "The Musical
Box" perform a complete re-enactment of Genesis's "The Lamb Lies Down on
Broadway." Oddly, whilst enjoying an after-show beverage or two we all
became nostalgic for times past, and lachrymose at the thought of time
passed. So inevitably we started to list our "desert island discs." We
then decided to ask our friends to contribute as well. Finally, we thought
the best way to share was to put everybody's picks up on a web page (you
are here). So, tell your friends, and have them submit to
submissions and I will add their picks to this page.
Also, after much thought and many submissions, I have decided that is only
fair to be specific- if possible avoid Greatest Hits albums- it's much
more fun, and frustrating, and interesting, to pick one or two albums of
an artist, and ultimately more informative to visitors to this site. And
box sets will be replaced by an album of my choice, heh heh.
